I was born in Bogota, Colombia. I immigrated to the United States as a small child. I grew up in and around Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I became a naturalized United States Citizen when I was about 21. I joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 2000, and after 9/11, I spent more than two years on active duty tours.
