Vidya Prasad ? known by friends, colleagues, and clients as ?V? ? spent the first 22 years of her life in India, where she received her bachelor?s degree and master?s degree from the University of Madras, India. She then attended Seton Hall Law School and received her law degree in 1996. After starting her legal career as a law clerk for a criminal judge, she soon realized that her interest was in civil practice. While juggling both her career and her responsibilities as a wife and mother, she chose to work at a law practice that was close to home. Once her children gained a bit more independence, she began working as an attorney for an insurance company. Nearly a decade later, she started her own firm thereby moving back to representing petitioners. As the years have passed, her experience has grown to encompass Workers? Compensation, Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income, Real Estate, and Municipal Court defenses. She has been co-chair for the New Jersey Workers? compensation division of NJDA, and is a member of the Mercer County Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association. Vidya is also on the Zoning board of the township where she now lives with her family, and is on the Board of a few area arts organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys music and dance.
