Taylor Norton is a native of New Orleans and a Jesuit High School graduate who earned his Bachelors of Science in Pure Mathematics from Louisiana State University and his Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, where he served as a National Science Foundation IGERT Research Fellow, advancing research across disciplines including structures and mechanics, textile engineering, macromolecular engineering and polymer science. He was a LaNasa Providence Law Scholar at Loyola University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree with a Certificate in Civil Law and Common Law. Taylor is particularly skilled in the intellectual property practice area, advising and assisting clients with all forms of intellectual property. His practice is focused on serving the needs of clients ranging from emerging businesses and individuals to Fortune 500 companies, addressing patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, branding, entertainment and publicity rights. He strategically counsels and represents clients in commercial and intellectual property transactions, as well as in enforcement in litigation. Taylor is a registered patent attorney and an engineer, whose patent practice encompasses a wide range of technologies, including computer science, electrical and mechanical engineering, oil and gas, civil construction, mobile applications and business methods. Taylor also has extensive experience in providing legal guidance in relation to research and development (R&D) tax credits and qualified research expenditures (QREs) for vessel design and construction in the marine industry. Taylor?s comprehensive trademark practice helps clients to build, protect and monetize their key images, names, brands, products and business lines. He facilitates the registration of trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and he often advises clients on the licensing and enforcement of trademark rights.
