Richard Wagner began his legal career in 1998 as a criminal DUI prosecutor in Los Angeles. While a Deputy City Attorney for Los Angeles, Richard Wagner prosecuted thousands of criminal cases, including DUI, drunk driving, domestic violence, assault and battery, and firearms cases in downtown LA. Since 2002, Richard Wagner has been a DUI Criminal Defense attorney in private practice. In 2006, he presented a lecture, ?What to Do If You Are Arrested for Drunk Driving? at Whittier Law School. In addition to giving lectures, Richard Wagner, ESQ. has shown his dedication to the profession of DUI defense by enrolling in and successfully completing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course. Richard Wagner defends clients in Federal Court in the Central and Southern Districts of the United States District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and in all State courts throughout California. He has successfully represented clients in criminal and DUI cases in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Joaquin, San Bernardino, Riverside, Tulare, Imperial, and San Diego Counties. Richard Wagner has defended clients in Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Idaho and New Mexico. He is a member of the American Bar Association, California DUI Lawyers Association, National College for DUI Defense, State Bar of California, and the California Public Defenders Association.
