Mr. Lavender is a licensed California attorney who is registered to practice patent law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He is also a member of the National Association of Patent Practitioners. Prior to founding The Patent Shoppe, Mr. Lavender spent a number of years serving as a patent attorney at various law firms including Gazdzinski & Associates, Morrison & Foerster LLP, and Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves, and Savitch LLP. He has prepared, prosecuted, and secured both domestic and foreign patents for a wide array of clients, including Apple Inc. and Time Warner Cable. Mr. Lavender has experience with a number of different technologies, including signal processing, image analysis, laser annealing, medical devices, cryptographic algorithms, stereolithography, e-commerce, optical particle detection, RFID protocols, wireless devices, switched digital broadcasting, biometric authentication, touch detection, and cloud computing.
