As a State Public Defender, Nicole represented the defense perspective on both the Waukesha County Drug and Alcohol Treatment Courts. In addition to traditional criminal work, Nicole has helped clients in termination of parental rights proceedings on appeal, pursued civil writs of habeas corpus in both state and federal court on behalf of Wisconsin inmates, and has argued before the Wisconsin Supreme Court.Nicole graduated from the University of Minnesota ? Twin Cities with a B.A. in Political Science and Minors in Sociology & Philosophy in 2006. She received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2010 and was the recipient of the Waukesha County Bar Association Scholarship while in law school. As a practicing attorney, Nicole was named an ?Up and Coming Lawyer? by the Wisconsin Law Journal in 2013. Over the years, she has educated other attorneys at various continuing legal education (CLE) programs, including sessions on the nuances of asserting self-defense claim at trial and identifying unique meritorious issues for appeal.
