Bryant served as First Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in McCracken County from 1974 until 1977 and was elected three times as Commonwealthâs Attorney, serving from 1977 until 1990. During that time, he was appointed by the Attorney General of Kentucky as Special Assistant Attorney General of Kentucky. As a prosecutor, Mr. Bryantâs areas of special interest were homicide, sex crimes, illegal drugs and crimes against children.Mr. Bryant was appointed to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Counsel and the Kentucky Crime Commission by Governor Julian M. Carroll; to the Governor's Task Force on Crime by Governor John Y. Brown; the Kentucky Jail Standards Commission by Governor Brown; and the Kentucky Child Abuse Prevention Board by Governor Martha Layne Collins. The Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court, Hon. Robert F. Stephens, appointed Mr. Bryant to the Supreme Court of Kentucky Criminal Rules Committee where he served with Hon. Frank Haddad and Hon.
