Lisa Hu Barquist is a Chinese-American, immigrating to this great county as a young child. She is a native Mandarin-Chinese speaker, learning to speak/read/understand English when placed in classes where only English was spoken and written. Having worked at her parents' restaurant since the age of 13, Lisa knows honest hard work and performing anything and everything to accomplish tasks at hand. She was fortunate to matriculate to Yale University, majoring in English Literature, and to the University of Southern California Law School, where she was on Law Review. Lisa has practiced law for over 30 years, having (a) devoted 11 years as a federal prosecutor primarily in the Southern District of Florida (Miami) prosecuting criminal narcotics violations and civil Medicare fraud, (b) worked at national and boutique law firms -- mergers and acquisitions and a variety of corporate organizations and business litigation, (c) served for 11 years as General Counsel for a manufacturing/logistics company whose clients include Publix, a supermarket company. Three years ago, Lisa moved to Orlando to provide a home for her one (human) daughter, who now attends Stanford University in California. Lisa also provides a home for her five (4-legged) children i-- all rescue and loved deeply.
