I'm an attorney licensed in North Carolina and Florida practicing estate planning, estate administration, guardianship, small business, and tax law. Being openly gay, I have a particular affinity for serving same-gender/same-sex couples, alternative families, and LGBTQ individuals. I serve on the Board of Directors of the Guilford Green Foundation (ggfnc.org) and the Greensboro Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Though born in Japan, I am a native North Carolinian, having grown up in Rockingham. I completed a double-major in Business and French at UNC Greensboro. I graduated cum laude from Elon University School of Law and went on to earn an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation from the University of Florida. While at Elon Law, I practiced estate planning in the Wills Clinic and externed for Judge Sue Burch. I founded and served as President and Treasurer of OutLaw, a social and educational organization for LGBTQ law students at Elon. I was an admissions ambassador, treasurer of Delta Theta Phi law fraternity and Elon Law Democrats, solicitor (investigator and prosecutor) for the Honor Council, and a member of the Jewish Law Students Association. During summers away from Elon Law, I interned for the District Attorney in Rockingham and the Public Defender in Charlotte, as well as studied Chinese business law in Beijing and Spanish language and culture in Madrid.
