J. L. represents clients in multiple jury trials each year and is one of the most experienced civil trial lawyers in South Georgia under 40. J. L. primarily represents catastrophically injured victims, families of individuals that died as a result of negligence, and individuals involved in commercial litigation. J.L. is licensed in both Georgia and Florida and regularly represents clients in both states. Before focusing on the representation of injured victims and families of those victims, J. L. worked for one of the premier insurance defense firms in the Southeastern United States, and, in addition to defending trucking claims, defended manufacturers, insurance companies, major retailers, and construction companies. Many of these claims were for in excess of $1 million dollars and several exceeded $10 million. As lead counsel, J. L. got a zero verdict in a jury trial where the plaintiff asked the jury to award over $18 million in damages. J. L. is familiar with handling high dollar claims and has learned from the inside how insurance companies approach these claims. Further, J. L. has learned what motivates insurance companies to provide fair and full compensation for injuries. This knowledge helps J. L. achieve the best result possible for clients, whether through trial before a jury or settlement outside of court. J. L. has also handled many business disputes including numerous matters with multiple parties involved. Included in this is a trial with eleven different parties present in court. In addition to trial work, J. L. has handled numerous appeals and obtained reversals of the trial court on multiple occasions. J. L. attended the University of Georgia, School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2005. J. L. received an M.B.A. and undergraduate degree in business from Murray State University where he also played on the men's golf team. J.
