I am a San Francisco-based trial lawyer passionate about representing tenants in disputes with landlords and individuals who have been injured. I am a founding partner at Toscano Kellogg & Van Aken LLP, where I pursue claims against landlords arising out of illegal evictions from rent-controlled apartments, tenant harassment, defective conditions and repair issues, rodent and other pest infestations, and floods. I also counsel tenants about their rights under federal, state, and local laws, particularly the San Francisco Rent Ordinance and the Oakland Just Cause for Eviction Ordinance, and negotiate buyouts for tenants interested in relocating from their rent-controlled apartments. I also represent pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers involved in automobile collisions who have been injured due to another person?s carelessness. I?m active in the Bar Association of San Francisco's Barristers Club. From 2012 to 2013, I was a member of the Barristers Club?s Board of Directors, serving as Board Vice President in 2013. I?ve volunteered as a mentor in BASF?s Mind the Gap Program, an initiative that provides opportunities for unemployed and underemployed attorneys; and as a Mentoring Circle Leader in a pilot program launched by BASF in 2014 that provides professional advice and guidance to new practitioners. I currently serve on BASF?s Solo/Small Firm Executive Committee and BASF?s Technology Committee. I enjoy working with recent graduates and new attorneys?particularly those interested in starting up their own small firm or solo practice. I?m also involved with the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, the San Francisco Tenants Union, and the Italian American Bar Association of Northern California. View More ?
