I wanted to be a lawyer because I am interested in politics and how the law helps or hinders justice in our society. Family law became my focus fairly early on in my career just because there were a lot of people who came to my office with those kind of cases. I learned that I liked this area of the law because I could help people through the most heart-wrenching situation and watch them come out the other side with more peace in their lives.I also enjoy the business of figuring out incomes, discovering the values of assets and debts and dividing property. I work with accountants to figure out tax consequences and cash-flow and business values for my clients.I was born and raised in Minnesota. I have lived in California off and on. I have finally settled in Colorado with my family, which includes my husband, our teenage son and our soft-coated wheaten terrier. I am licensed in Minnesota and Colorado and have offices in both. This allows me to handle interstate divorce and family cases which I do with regularity in my practice.I earned my Bachelor?s degree from UCLA and my law degree from Hamline University School of Law. I have advanced training in family law litigation and mediation.I like to volunteer. You can find me at the military veterans legal clinic and domestic relations clinics around the metro area. I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) helping kids in the foster care system. My philosophy is ?choose your battles.? Let go of the small stuff. I don?t recommend divorce to anyone. It?s emotionally and financially draining. But, if you're at a point where you need out then you want an experienced FAMILY LAW attorney as your advocate. Someone who will give you the right advice and counsel for your situation. At the end of the day you will survive the process. I guarantee it. View More ?
