Those internships provided him with hands-on experience working directly with clients in landlord-tenant disputes and civil rights claims. He also had the opportunity to work on cases involving constitutional claims related to university admissions policies and DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).At UNC, Chris won the Eugene Gressman & Daniel H. Pollitt Appellate Advocacy Award for Best Appellant Argument. He was a competing member of the Holderness Moot Court Corporate Team.As a college student in Boone, Chris ran and won a seat on the Watauga County Soil and Water Conservation District Board in a write-in campaign. He served on the board along with four farmers, providing financial assistance to local farms that wanted to implement water quality improvement and soil erosion protection projects on their land.
