Alex D. Weatherby joined Carr & Weatherby, LLP as an associate in the August of 2010. He has since been promoted to named partner. He graduated from Samford University in 2006, with Summa Cum Laude honors. He, then, attended University of Georgia School of Law, receiving his juris doctorate degree in May of 2010, with Cum Laude honors. Mr. Weatherby?s practice is entirely devoted to litigation. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in the fields of personal injury, wrongful death, insurance coverage disputes, and class actions. While in law school, Mr. Weatherby was a member of the Moot Court Board and Mock Trial Board. Through these organizations, he competed nationally in the ABA National Moot Court Competition and Emory Civil Rights Competition. In his final year of law school, he was named a Pupil to the Chattahoochee Inn of Court, which is an honorable legal society dedicated to improving the skills, professionalism and ethics of its members. He served as a member of the SBA Student Affairs Committee. Mr. Weatherby received the ?William King Meadow Award? while at Georgia law school. This award, which is voted on by students and faculty, is ?given to one student in the graduating class best exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and high legal ethics, and who has the keen sense of humor necessary to bring a proper perspective to solving legal issues.? Mr. Weatherby prides himself on living true to this award, practicing law with integrity, ethics, and the proper perspective. Mr. Weatherby worked for the Western Circuit of Georgia Public Defender?s Office during his third year of law school, in which he regularly argued motions and hearings before a Superior Court Judge.
